Perry, Prugh share PGA Professional lead

Sunriver, OR (Sports Network) - Rod Perry and Corey Prugh posted matching rounds of 8-under 63 on Sunday and they share the lead after the first round of the 46th PGA Professional National Championship.

Perry and Prugh carded their rounds on the Meadows Golf Course, which is being used for the first two rounds along with the par-72 Crosswater Course as there are 312 players for the first two rounds. Both courses are at the Sunriver Resort and the Crosswater Course will host the final two rounds.

Jeff Sorenson is alone in third place at minus-7, while Rick Lewallen is one stroke back at 6-under 65. Don Berry is alone in fifth after opening with a 5- under 66.

Mike Barge and Sonny Skinner are tied for sixth at minus-4. The top seven on the leaderboard all played the par-71 Meadows Course on Sunday.

Defending champion Matt Dobyns struggled to a 4-over 76, which left him tied for 182nd place.

The opening round was completed despite steady rain throughout the day.
