Caps give G Neuvirth two-year extension

Arlington, VA (Sports Network) - The Washington Capitals re-signed goaltender Michal Neuvirth to a two-year contract extension on Saturday.

Neuvirth, 25, has gone 4-5-2 with a 2.74 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage this season.

The Czech has compiled a 55-35-11 record with seven shutouts and a 2.66 GAA in 121 career games (106 starts) with the Capitals.

Neuvirth will earn $2.4 million in 2013-14 and $2.6 million the following season.
