Montreal, QC (SportsNetwork.com) - Montreal Canadiens defenseman Josh Gorges is expected to be sidelined for at least a month after undergoing surgery on Monday to repair a broken bone in his left hand.

The Canadiens said Gorges' recovery time is four weeks, which would take him to the final week of the regular season.

Gorges has one goal and 12 assists for 13 points in 63 games this season. His plus-7 rating is the best among Montreal defensemen.
