(Sports Network) - Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David has reportedly been fined $7,875 for his late hit on New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith during Week 1's 18-17 setback.

NFL.com reported the fine on Thursday.

With Tampa Bay leading 17-15, David chased Smith to the sideline before shoving him after the signal-caller was out of bounds. The play resulted in a 15-yard penalty that moved the Jets to the Tampa Bay 30-yard line, where Nick Folk booted the game-winning field goal.
