Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cincinnati Bengals placed defensive tackle Geno Atkins on injured reserve Monday.
Atkins tore the ACL in his right knee during the first half of Thursday's overtime loss in Miami. He is the eighth Bengals player to go on IR this season, with all eight coming on the defensive side of the ball.
The 25-year-old Georgia product had six sacks and 20 tackles in nine games this season after leading all interior lineman last season with 12 1/2 sacks while earning his second Pro Bowl selection.
Cincinnati had planned to sign ex-Raiders defensive tackle Christo Bilukidi to take Atkins' roster spot, but the native Canadian does not currently have a valid permit to work in the United States.
Bilukidi, 23, registered one sack and five tackles in five games with the Raiders this season before being released on Oct. 23.
