Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Eagles promoted running back Matthew Tucker from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.

The move was made after the Eagles declared reserve running back Chris Polk (shoulder) out of Sunday's game against Dallas. Tucker will serve as the third running back behind LeSean McCoy and Bryce Brown on Sunday.

An undrafted rookie out of TCU, Tucker had 25 carries for 89 yards and two touchdowns for the Eagles during the preseason.

To make room on the active roster for Tucker, the Eagles released rookie cornerback Jordan Poyer.

Poyer was picked by the Eagles in the seventh round of this year's draft. The rookie cornerback was only active for three games this season.
