Raiders place Hayden on IR

Napa, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Raiders have placed cornerback D.J. Hayden on injured reserve.

Hayden, the Raiders first-round pick in last April's NFL Draft, appeared in eight games this season, including two starts. He recorded 29 tackles, two passes defensed, one interception and one forced fumble.

Oakland also added linebacker Miles Burris and re-signed defensive lineman Brian Sanford to their active roster.

Burris had spent the first 11 weeks of the NFL season on the PUP list. Last season, he appeared in all 16 games making 15 starts finishing the year with 138 tackles, 1.5 sacks, one interception and one forced fumble.

Sanford, had been waived by Raiders on Nov. 16. He had appeared in four games this season including one start. Prior to Oakland, Sanford spent three seasons with the Cleveland Browns after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2010.

The Raiders also added defensive tackle Ricky Lumpkin to the practice squad. He played in one game with Arizona in 2012, but was waived by the Cardinals on Sept. 6.
