Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Indianapolis Colts running back Ahmad Bradshaw was placed on injured reserve and will have season-ending surgery on his neck.

The Colts announced the move Tuesday and several media outlets reported the impending surgery.

Bradshaw, 27, missed the past two weeks with the injury after rushing for 186 yards and two touchdowns in the first three games this season. He gained 95 yards on 19 carries and had a touchdown in a Week 3 win at San Francisco.

The Colts signed Bradshaw as a free agent in June. He dealt with neck issues last year in his sixth season with the Giants.

Indianapolis had already lost second-year running back Vick Ballard to a torn ACL but traded for Trent Richardson in a blockbuster deal with the Cleveland Browns.

The Colts waived fullback Robert Hughes and released practice squad running back Kerwynn Williams.
