Allen Park, MI (Sports Network) - The Detroit Lions signed a pair of veteran free agents on Tuesday, agreeing to terms with guard Jake Scott and wide receiver/return specialist Micheal Spurlock.

Scott has started 128 games over nine seasons since breaking into the NFL as a fifth-round pick of Indianapolis in 2004. The 32-year-old spent four years with the Colts and was the team's primary right guard for its run to the Super Bowl XLI title during the 2006 campaign, then signed with fellow AFC South member Tennessee prior to the 2008 season.

He opened all 64 games with the Titans from 2008-11, then made seven starts after signing with the Philadelphia Eagles last October.

Scott's addition comes one day after Detroit added another experienced guard in Leroy Harris, his former teammate in Tennessee.

Spurlock split 2012 between Jacksonville and San Diego, catching a combined 23 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown. The six-year pro also returned both a kickoff and a punt for a touchdown during his eight-game stint with the Chargers.

For his career, Spurlock owns three kickoff return touchdowns and two punt return scores over 56 games with Arizona, Tampa Bay, San Francisco, Jacksonville and San Diego.
