Allen Park, MI (Sports Network) - Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson was involved in a single-car accident and suffered a broken arm.

He will have surgery Wednesday.

Lions coach Jim Schwartz said Burleson broke both bones in his forearm. The team has no plans to place him on IR.

"We'll miss him, but we won't miss a beat," Schwartz said.

Police say there was no alcohol involved in the accident.

The 32-year-old Burleson has 19 catches for 239 yards in three games for the Lions (2-1) this season. He hauled in six passes for 116 yards in Detroit's 27-20 win over the Washington Redskins on Sunday.

Burleson was reportedly distracted when an item fell off his front passenger seat and he hit the median on I-696. He was on his way home from watching Monday Night Football with friends.

The Nevada product played in just six games last season after breaking his leg versus Chicago in October.

The same surgeon will perform this surgery that performed Burleson's leg injury last year.
