New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - Tim Connelly is set to join the Denver Nuggets' front office as the club's general manager and executive vice president of basketball operations.

A source confirmed to the Times-Picayune on Monday that the Pelicans' assistant general manager will head to Denver, though it is uncertain if the move is effective immediately or if it will officially take place after the completion of the draft on June 27.

Nuggets owner Josh Kroenke also confirmed the move to the Denver Post.

Connelly held the assistant GM post in New Orleans since August 2010, after being hired away from the Washington Wizards, where he served as director of player personnel.

He will take the reins from Masai Ujiri, who left Denver to assume the general manager slot with the Toronto Raptors.
