Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin departed Saturday's game against the Houston Rockets midway through the first quarter due to spasms in his lower back.

The All-Star forward suffered the injury while battling for position with Rockets forward Donatas Motiejunas with 5:49 left in the opening period. The Clippers announced later in the first half that Griffin is doubtful to return to the game.

Griffin had gotten off to a strong start, amassing seven points and a block in his six-plus minutes of action.
