New York, NY (Sports Network) - Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo has been suspended one game without pay for making contact with a game official, the NBA announced on Monday.

The incident occurred with 3:19 remaining in the third quarter of Boston's 89-81 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday.

Rondo will serve his ban on Monday, missing the team's contest against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

This is the second time this season the league has suspended Rondo, who was banned for two games for his involvement in an on-court altercation with the Brooklyn Nets on Nov. 28.

In 29 games this season, Rondo is averaging 13.2 points and 11.3 assists per game.
