Recap: Philadelphia vs. Milwaukee

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Spencer Hawes scored 15 points and grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds as the Philadelphia 76ers ended a three-game losing skid versus Milwaukee to down the Bucks, 100-92, on Wednesday at Wells Fargo Center.

Damien Wilkins and Jrue Holiday netted 18 points apiece for the 76ers, who have won two of their last three. Thaddeus Young donated 14 points and seven boards and Dorell Wright had 14 points in the victory, the Sixers' third consecutive at home.

"It's a great feeling," Young said. "We were locked in and communicating. We're focused on winning."

Monta Ellis scored a game-high 29 points to go along with seven assists for the Bucks, who have lost four straight and seven of their last nine. Larry Sanders scored 15 points and pulled down nine rebounds, while Ersan Ilyasova chipped in 13 points and had 18 boards in defeat.

Wright caught fire around the start of the fourth, scoring eight Philadelphia points, including consecutive triples, during a 18-2 run as Turner capped the action with his own 3-pointer to make it 98-87 with 5:09 to play.

Ilyasova then scored two quick baskets to cut Milwaukee's deficit to seven with just over four minutes to play, but both teams hit a sudden cold streak down the stretch.

Ellis hit one free throw with 53 seconds remaining to make it a six-point contest, but missed his second. Milwaukee got the rebound and Illyasova had a solid look from behind he arc, but his shot missed and he then forced a bad pass which led to a fast break for Wilkins, who slammed the ball home to secure the victory.

The Bucks only made 6-of-19 attempts from the floor in the final period and managed 14 total points.

"You can point to a lot of things, " Milwaukee forward Mike Dunleavy said. "We've got to bounce back and get a win."

Philadelphia led after one quarter, 27-20 and held its lead into the second, opening with a 16-7 spurt to take a 43-27 lead with seven minutes to play before halftime.

The visitors, though, ended the second quarter on a 21-9 swing to cut their deficit to 54-48 at the break.

The Sixers turned a six-point halftime lead into a 12-point edge early in the third quarter before Sanders kicked off a 26-12 flurry with back-to-back slams as the Bucks took a 78-76 advantage into the fourth.
