Wizards' Nene out six weeks with sprained MCL

Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Washington Wizards announced Monday that forward/center Nene will miss approximately six weeks with an MCL sprain in his left knee.

Nene suffered the injury in Washington's victory over Cleveland on Sunday night. An MRI on Monday in Washington revealed the severity of the injury.

In 49 games (37 starts) this season, Nene has averaged 14.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.2 steals.

The Wizards currently hold the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.
