Houston, TX (Sports Network) - The Houston Rockets waived guard Aaron Brooks and guard/forward Carlos Delfino on Sunday.

Brooks, who had a $2.5 million team option, started last season with the Sacramento Kings before being waived on March 1. He was picked up by Houston four days later.

The 28-year-old Brooks averaged 7.1 points, 2.2 assists and 1.5 rebounds in 53 games combined this season.

In six NBA seasons with the Rockets (2007-11, 2013), Suns (2011) and Kings, Brooks has averaged 11.6 points, 3.4 assists and 1.8 rebounds per contest.

Delfino played in 67 games (five starts) in his lone season with the Rockets and averaged 10.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists and 1.01 steals per game. However, he suffered a fractured right foot during the postseason. He had a $3 million team option for next season.

The eight-year veteran has career averages of 8.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
