Houston, TX (Sports Network) - The Houston Rockets announced the signing of free agent forward Omri Casspi to a multi-year contract on Tuesday.

Additional terms were not disclosed by the team, though Yahoo! Sports previously reported the former Cleveland Cavalier agreed to a two-year, $2 million deal that contains a team option for the 2014-15 season.

Casspi, the first Israeli-born player to be picked in the NBA Draft's opening round, has averaged 7.9 points and 3.9 rebounds over four seasons in the league.

The 25-year-old put up 10.3 points and 4.5 rebounds while starting 31-of-77 games as a rookie for the Sacramento Kings, who took Casspi with the 23rd overall choice of the 2009 draft. His numbers in both categories have declined in each season since, however, with the 6-foot-9 shooting specialist posting career lows of 4.0 points and 2.7 rebounds while playing under 12 minutes a game over 43 contests with the Cavaliers this past campaign.

A career 35.3 percent shooter from 3-point range, Casspi will attempt to fill the role previously held by veteran Carlos Delfino, who was waived by the Rockets on June 30.
