Boston, MA (Sports Network) - The Boston Celtics announced Sunday that they have signed forward Kelly Olynyk, the team's 2013 first-round draft choice.

The 7-footer out of Gonzaga was selected 13th overall in this year's NBA Draft. He is expected to receive extensive minutes during his rookie season after Boston shipped forwards Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to Brooklyn.

Olynyk was a consensus All-American and the West Coast Conference Player of the Year during his final season with the Bulldogs after posting averages of 17.8 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.
