Boston, MA (Sports Network) - The Boston Celtics announced on Thursday the acquisition of forward Donte Greene from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for center Fab Melo and cash considerations.

Greene has averaged 6.1 points and 2.4 rebounds per game over 253 appearances in four seasons with the Sacramento Kings from 2008-12. He signed with Memphis this past April but did not see the court.

Melo played in just six games a season ago for the Celtics, making 3-of-6 shots from the floor and 1-of-4 from the free-throw line, along with three rebounds and two steals.
