Scott tops Kenseth for Nationwide pole at Richmond

Richmond, VA (Sports Network) - Brian Scott claimed the pole for Friday night's Nationwide Series race at Richmond International Raceway after edging Matt Kenseth in qualifying.

Scott, who is in his first season with Richard Childress Racing, turned a lap at 124.327 mph for his second pole in his 135th Nationwide start. His maiden pole in the series came in September 2011 at Chicagoland Speedway (63 races ago).

Kenseth's lap at 124.292 mph was only 0.006 seconds behind Scott.

Austin Dillon qualified third, followed by Brad Keselowski, who won the spring race at Richmond in April, and Sam Hornish Jr., who is the current points leader and Keselowski's teammate at Penske Racing.

Alex Bowman, Kyle Busch, Regan Smith, Brian Vickers and Kenny Wallace completed the top-10.
