Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Pirates announced Friday that the club has signed outfielder Austin Meadows, the ninth overall selection in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft.

Meadows hit .535 with 14 doubles, one triple, four home runs and 28 RBI as a senior this year at Grayson High School in Georgia.

"We are excited to add Austin to our already talented minor league system and for him to begin his professional career," Pirates director of scouting Joe DelliCarri said. "He is a talented young man who comes from a very strong family."

The Pirates have now signed 19 players from the 2013 First-Year Player Draft.
