MLB postseason schedule hinges on Texas/Tampa Bay tiebreaker

New York, NY (Sports Network) - After both teams came out victorious Sunday to finish tied for the final wild card spot in the American League, the Texas Rangers and Tampa Bay Rays will square off Monday in a one-game tiebreaker in Arlington to decide the AL's final playoff team.

Monday's matchup is slated for 8:07 p.m. (et), with the winner heading to Cleveland for Wednesday's Wild Card Game at 8:07 p.m. after the Indians claimed the top wild card spot with a victory over Minnesota on Sunday.

Cincinnati and Pittsburgh get things started in the National League with a wild card matchup set for 8:07 p.m. on Tuesday.

The winner between the Reds and Pirates earns a meeting with the NL Central champion Cardinals in St. Louis on Thursday, with the other NLDS between the West-winning Dodgers and East-champion Braves slated for the same day.

The ALDS between Central-champion Detroit and West-winning Oakland is scheduled for Friday, while the winner of the AL Wild Card Game gets rewarded with a matchup in Boston on Friday against the Red Sox, who won the East en route to the best record in the AL.

The NLCS is slated to start Oct. 11, with the ALCS commencing the following the day.

The World Series is scheduled to start Oct. 23 in the park of the American League champion.
