Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cleveland Indians announced Monday that they have signed veteran reliever Scott Atchison to a minor league contract that includes an invite to the club's spring training camp.

Atchison spent last season with the New York Mets and pitched in a career-high 50 games, compiling a 3-3 record with a 4.37 earned run average over 45 1/3 innings.

The 37-year-old put together a strong campaign with the Boston Red Sox in 2012, registering an impressive 1.58 ERA over 42 appearances.

Over seven major league seasons with Seattle, San Francisco, Boston and the Mets, Atchison owns a 10-10 record with a 3.64 ERA in 205 games, all but one of which have come in relief.
