Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Braves activated catcher Brian McCann from the 15-day disabled list prior to Monday's game against the Cincinnati Reds.

The six-time All-Star had been on the DL since the start of the season recovering from October shoulder surgery.

McCann hit 20 homers and drove in 67 runs over 121 games last year. In seven rehab games with Triple-A Gwinnett and Single-A Rome, McCann went 8-for-23 with a double, four home runs and nine RBI.

To make room on the roster, Atlanta optioned shortstop Tyler Pastornicky to Gwinnett.
