Recap: Kansas City vs. Texas

Surprise, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Alcides Escobar had three hits and drove in three runs as the Kansas City Royals defeated the Texas Rangers, 8-4, on Saturday.

Justin Maxwell's fifth inning home run brought in two runs and starter Jason Vargas surrendered one run on eight hits with five strikeouts across seven innings for the Royals.

Michael Choice stroked a three-run homer for the Rangers while J.P. Arencibia and Engel Beltre both had two hits. Tommy Hanson was reached for seven runs in 5 2/3 innings in the loss.
