Rupp and Gwynn ripped consecutive RBI doubles in the top of the eighth inning before rain forced the contest to be called.

Cody Asche collected two hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Phillies, who saw starter David Buchanan strike out two over two perfect innings.

Brett Carroll clubbed a two-run double for the Blue Jays. Starter Brandon Morrow allowed four runs on five hits and three walks over five frames.
