Recap: Cleveland vs. Houston

Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Trevor Bauer fired six-plus scoreless innings and the Cleveland Indians defeated the Houston Astros, 3-1, in the rubber match of a three-game set.

Bauer (5-7) struck out nine, scattered four hits and walked three for the Indians, who moved to a season-high three games over .500. Jose Ramirez went 3-for-4 with an RBI in the triumph.

"He kept them off the scoreboard, a lot of swing-and-miss," Indians manager Terry Francona said of Bauer.

Cody Allen fanned Dexter Fowler with the bases loaded in the ninth to notch his 17th save of the year.

Brett Oberholtzer (4-9) allowed three runs on 10 hits with six punchouts over 6 2/3 innings for Houston, which dropped the last two games of the series.

"Offensively, we pretty much scuffled," Astros manager Bo Porter said.

The Indians plated a run in the third, fourth and seventh innings.

Michael Bourn singled and Ramirez doubled to start the third before Carlos Santana's sacrifice fly two batters later pushed across Bourn.

Mike Aviles lined a two-out double down the left-field line in the fourth and scored on Lonnie Chisenhall's base hit to right.

Chisenhall led off the seventh with a single, moved to second on a balk and advanced to third on a Roberto Perez bunt. Bourn grounded out right back to the pitcher, but Ramirez brought home Chisenhall with a base hit up the middle. Tyler Holt struck out with the bases loaded later in the frame to end the threat.

Houston got on the board in the eighth. Marc Krauss reached base with a two- out single and came home on Jon Singleton's double, cutting the deficit to 3-1.

Game Notes

The Indians were 2-for-10 with runners in scoring position, while Houston finished 1-for-8 and left 11 men on base ... Jose Altuve tallied his 47th steal for Houston.
