Recap: San Francisco vs. Colorado

San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Brandon Barnes' go-ahead, inside-the- park two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning lifted the Colorado Rockies over the San Francisco Giants, 5-4, in the middle tilt of a three- game series at AT&T Park.

With the Rockies trailing by a run, Charlie Blackmon singled off Sergio Romo (3-3) with one out in the decisive frame. Barnes then delivered his second inside-the-park homer of the season on a two-out slider past a diving center fielder Angel Pagan to cap off a second consecutive ninth inning rally for the Rockies, who have won four straight.

"We always talk about the games here and how crazy they are," said Rockies manager Walt Weiss. "It usually comes down to millimeters and milliseconds. That was another one today."

Rex Brothers (3-4) struck out the side in the eighth inning to earn the win while LaTroy Hawkins ended the game with a scoreless ninth to secure his 13th save of the year.

Michael McKenry went 3-for-4 with a run scored while Blackmon, Josh Rutledge and Ryan Wheeler each recorded an RBI for Colorado.

Buster Posey went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and three RBI and Hunter Pence added a solo home run for the Giants, who have lost five of their last six.

"This is a tough one for these guys to lose," said Giants manager Bruce Bochy. "That's a tough way to lose a game but we have to move on and be ready for tomorrow."

Pence's solo shot over the left-field wall in the first that started the scoring.

McKenry led off the second with a base hit and came around to score on Wheeler's double to center. With Wheeler on third and two outs, Blackmon singled to left to put the Rockies ahead.

Back-to-back doubles from Justin Morneau and Rutledge, respectively, in the third extended Colorado's lead to 3-1.

Posey crushed a two-out, full-count fastball for a two-run homer that tied the game in the fifth two batters after Pagan reached on a base hit.

In the seventh, Pagan lined a single off the glove of third baseman Wheeler. Pence put runners on the corners with his base hit and Posey's sacrifice fly to right plated Pagan to break the tie.
