Recap: Detroit vs. Philadelphia

Lakeland, FL (Sports Network) - Cole Hamels tossed three shutout innings in his final spring tuneup to help the Philadelphia Phillies record a 4-1 win over the Detroit Tigers.

Hamels, who will next take the mound when the Phillies open the regular season Monday in Atlanta, yielded just one hit and one walk while striking out three of the 10 batters he faced.

Justin Verlander also performed well in his last Grapefruit League outing of the season, with the Detroit ace limiting Philadelphia to two runs -- one earned -- and fanning five over 5 2/3 frames.

Verlander will get the call for Monday's season opener at Minnesota.

Six Philadelphia pitchers combined to hold the Tigers to three hits, with Michael Young knocking in a pair of runs to pace the Phillies offensively. Ender Inciarte went 2-for-4 with an RBI single in the victory.
