Recap: Chicago Cubs vs. Milwaukee

Mesa, AZ (Sports Network) - Starlin Castro had a two-run home run and Alfredo Amezaga smacked a solo shot as the Chicago Cubs downed the Milwaukee Brewers, 5-3, as each team closed out their spring training schedules.

Joe Mather added an RBI double while Darwin Barney had a run-scoring single for the Cubs, who host Washington on Thursday in their season opener. Travis Wood got the start for Chicago and gave up one run on six hits and a walk through six innings.

Andy Gonzalez homered, while Scooter Gennett and Orlando Arcia had an RBI apiece for Milwaukee, which hosts St. Louis on Friday to open its season. Kyle Heckathorn allowed five runs on eight hits and two walks in a five-inning start for the Brewers.
