Viera, FL (Sports Network) - Roger Bernadina went 3-for-3 with a solo home run, four RBI and a run scored as the Washington Nationals thumped the New York Mets, 12-0, in spring training action on Sunday.

Jayson Werth ripped a two-run homer, while Ian Desmond and Chad Tracy added solo shots for the Nationals. Ryan Zimmerman finished 3-for-5 with three runs scored and Stephen Strasburg scattered five hits over five innings while striking out five and walking one.

Ruben Tejada and Vinny Rottino had two hits apiece and starter Matt Harvey was lit up for five runs and seven hits in just one inning. To make matters worse for New York, left fielder Jason Bay left the game with a bruised right forearm after getting hit by a Strasburg pitch.
