Recap: NY Yankees vs. Boston

Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - Pedro Ciriaco hit a leadoff single in the top of the ninth inning Tuesday night and came home for the game's only run after two errors, lifting the Boston Red Sox to a 1-0 win over the New York Yankees.

Ciriaco's hit -- one of just eight in the game -- was followed by errors from Yankees right fielder Zoilo Almonte and second baseman David Adams.

Red Sox starter Felix Doubront struck out three batters in four innings and combined with three more pitchers on the shutout. Ivan Nova also fanned three in a four-inning start for the Yankees.

Both teams had four hits. Jacoby Ellsbury's double for the Red Sox was the only one that went for extra bases.
