Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - Veteran infielder Brendan Harris joined his third major league club this year after signing a minor league deal with the Texas Rangers on Wednesday.

Harris, who was assigned to Triple-A Round Rock, will not go on the 40-man roster.

Harris, who turns 33 on Monday, started the year with the Los Angeles Angels and was a member of the team's Opening Day roster before he was designated for assignment on July 20. He batted .206 with four homers and nine RBI in 44 games for the Angels. He was released from a minor league contract with the Yankees earlier Wednesday.

He was a true utility player seeing action at every infield position with one game in left field. Harris is a career .256 hitter over 529 big league games with the Cubs, Expos/Nationals, Reds, Rays, Twins and Angels.
