Rangers, Arencibia agree to one-year deal

Lake Buena Vista, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Texas Rangers formally announced the signing of catcher J.P. Arencibia to a one-year contract for the 2014 season on Tuesday.

Arencibia, who turns 28 in January, batted .194 with 21 home runs, 18 doubles, and 55 RBI in a career-high 138 games for the Blue Jays in 2013.

Since being selected by Toronto in the first round (21st overall) of the 2007 amateur draft, Arencibia has compiled 64 homers and 193 RBI while batting .212 over 380 career games, all with the Blue Jays.
