St. Petersburg, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tampa Bay Rays and pitcher David Price have agreed on a one-year, $14 million deal, avoiding arbitration.

Price went 10-8 with a 3.33 ERA in 27 starts in 2013. He missed 44 games with a triceps strain in his throwing arm.

The 28-year-old left-hander is a three-time All-Star and was the 2012 American League Cy Young Award winner.

Speculation entering the offseason was that Tampa Bay might trade Price, who will be a free agent at the end of the 2014 season.

A six-year veteran, Price is 71-39 with a 3.19 ERA. He is the Rays' all-time leader in ERA and winning percentage and ranks second in wins, games started, innings pitched, strikeouts and complete games.
