St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The St. Louis Cardinals began to re-shap their rotation on Thursday, declining the 2014 contract option on pitcher Jake Westbrook.

Westbrook, who missed time in August and early September and went on the DL with a lower back strain, finished the season with a 7-8 record and 4.63 earned run average in 21 games (19 starts) this past season.

The 36-year-old right-hander departs St. Louis after three plus seasons. He hold 105-103 career record with a 4.32 ERA in 315 total appearances.
