Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - The Seattle Mariners placed rookie catcher Jesus Sucre on the 15-day disabled list Saturday and recalled infielder Carlos Triunfel from Triple-A Tacoma.

Sucre suffered a sprained left wrist against the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday. The 25-year-old made his major league debut on May 24 and is batting .192 (5- for-26) with three RBI over eight games.

Triunfel, 23, returns for his second stint with the Mariners this season after being optioned to the minors on Wednesday. He was hitless in 13 at-bats over five big league games.

In 46 games for Tacoma, Triunfel is batting .303 with four homers, 15 doubles and 19 RBI.
