San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - The San Diego Padres recalled pitcher Nick Vincent from Triple-A Tucson on Tuesday.

Vincent will see his second stint in the majors this season, having worked four scoreless innings over two appearances after his initial call-up in late May. He's gone 4-3 with a 3.55 earned run average in 24 games with the high- level farm club in 2013.

To make room on the roster, the Padres sent pitcher Burch Smith to Tucson. Smith did not make an appearance in this recent call-up, but was 0-1 with an 18.41 ERA in three starts with San Diego earlier this year.
