Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Pirates placed catcher Michael McKenry on the 15-day disabled list prior to Monday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals.

McKenry, who is dealing with a left knee sprain, is hitting .217 with three homers and 14 RBI in 41 games this season.

To take McKenry's place on the 25-man active roster, the Pirates intend to recall outfielder Alex Presley from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Presley hit .293 with two homers in 17 games with Pittsburgh earlier this year.
