Hand laceration forces Pirates' Walker to DL

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Pirates placed second baseman Neil Walker on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a right hand laceration.

The move is retroactive to April 27.

Walker is batting .253 with eight RBI through 23 games this season.

To fill Walker's roster spot, the Pirates recalled infielder Jordy Mercer from Triple-A Indianapolis.
