Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Phillies announced the signing of pitcher John Lannan on Tuesday.

Lannan, 28, received a one-year, $2.5 million contract, one that also includes performance bonuses.

The southpaw has made 134 career starts with the Washington Nationals since 2007, going 42-52 with a 4.01 ERA.

"Clearly we have a familiarity with John and his past performance and success in this division helps us add depth to our rotation," said Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr.
