Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - The Oakland Athletics claimed infielder Adam Rosales off waivers from the Texas Rangers on Thursday.

Rosales was designated for assignment by the A's on July 31 to make room for infielder Alberto Callaspo, who was acquired from the Angels in a trade on July 30. He was then claimed off waivers by Texas, but didn't play a game before being designated by assignment by the Rangers on Monday.

In 50 games for the Athletics this season, Rosales is batting .193 with four homers and eight runs batted in.
