A's keep three catchers on Division Series roster

Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Athletics have set their roster fo the American League Division Series against Detroit and will keep three catchers active.

Kurt Suzuki, acquired from Washington in August, will join Derek Norris and Stephen Vogt as backstops for the five-game series.

The Athletics will carry 11 pitchers, including scheduled starters Bartolo Colon, Sonny Gray, Jarrod Parker and Dan Straily. The other pitchers on the roster will be closer Grant Balfour, Brett Anderson, Jerry Blevins, Jesse Chavez, Ryan Cook, Sean Doolittle and Dan Otero.

A.J. Griffin, a 14-game winner in 32 starts, has an elbow injury and will not pitch in the series.

Josh Donaldson, Jed Lowrie, Eric Sogard, Alberto Callaspo, Daric Barton and Brandon Moss are the infielders, while the outfielders are Coco Crisp, Yoenis Cespedes, Josh Reddick, Seth Smith and Chris Young.
