Mets sign Atchison to minor league deal

Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Mets signed pitcher Scott Atchison to a minor league contract on Tuesday.

The deal includes an invitation to spring training.

Atchison made 42 relief appearances for Boston last season, compiling a 2-1 record with a career-best 1.58 ERA.

The 36-year-old right-hander has played in 155 career games with Seattle, San Francisco and the Red Sox, going 7-7 with a 3.48 ERA.
