Marlins activate Mathis

Miami, FL (Sports Network) - The Miami Marlins activated catcher Jeff Mathis from the 15-day disabled list prior to Tuesday's game against the Cincinnati Reds.

Mathis suffered a broken right collarbone in the team's first spring training game this year. He was acquired in the November 2012 trade that sent Jose Reyes and Mark Buehrle to the Toronto Blue Jays.

In 70 games for the Blue Jays last season, Mathis hit.218 with eight home runs and 27 RBI.
