Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled outfielder Scott Van Slyke from Triple-A Albuquerque and optioned outfielder Dee Gordon to the same minor league club on Friday.

Van Slyke will be making his fourth trip to the majors this season once he arrives in Philadelphia for the start of a weekend set against the Phillies.

The 27-year-old has hit .242 with six home runs, seven doubles and 15 RBI over 36 previous games for LA.

To make room on the roster, the Dodgers optioned Gordon, who batted .357 in a six-game call-up since Aug. 5.
