Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday placed outfielder Carl Crawford on the 15-day disabled list with a left ankle sprain.

Crawford is hitting .267 with four home runs, six doubles, 18 RBI and 21 runs scored in 44 appearances for the club this season.

To fill the roster spot, LA selected the contract of infielder Jamie Romak from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Romak, 28, batted .272 with 13 homers and 30 RBI for the Isotopes this season, after hitting .242 in 134 games in the Cardinals' system at Memphis last year.
