Houston, TX (Sports Network) - The Houston Astros placed outfielder Justin Maxwell on the 7-day disabled list due to concussion-related symptoms.

Maxwell sustained a mild concussion on Tuesday versus St. Louis while making a diving attempt at a catch in right field. He has not started a game since then, but came on as a pinch-runner on Friday against the Angels.

In 28 games this season, Maxwell is hitting .235 with six doubles, one homer and six RBI.

To fill his spot on the roster, Houston recalled outfielder Jimmy Paredes from Triple-A Oklahoma City. Paredes hit .190 with four doubles, one homer and seven RBI in 31 contests for the Astros earlier this year.
