Bronx, NY (Sports Network) - Cleveland Indians injured closer Chris Perez reportedly is being investigated in connection with a drug-related incident.

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Perez had a package, believed to contain marijuana, delivered to his house in the Cleveland suburb of Rocky River. Perez has not been arrested.

The Indians released a statement regarding the matter.

"Earlier this morning we were made aware of a situation involving RHP Chris Perez that occurred yesterday in Rocky River," said team general manager Chris Antonetti. "We have talked with Chris and are currently in the process of gathering additional information. We will not have any additional comment at this time."

Perez, who is on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right shoulder, has compiled a 2-1 record with six saves and a 4.32 ERA in 17 appearances this season.
