Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cincinnati Reds have signed Cuban pitcher Raisel Iglesias to a seven-year contract, the club announced Friday.

The deal, according to MLB.com, is worth $27 million in addition to a $5 million signing bonus.

Iglesias, 24, defected from Cuba in November and has been pitching for scouts in Haiti.

The right-hander gave up two runs and three hits while striking out six over 4 2/3 frames in five games during the World Baseball Classic in 2013.
